After narrowly missing his first EURO MOTO victory in Brno, Dirk Geiger and Team APRECO arrived at Most determined to bounce back. On one of the most demanding weekends of the season, with temperatures exceeding 40°C and track temperatures climbing beyond 60°C, the German rider immediately demonstrated his pace aboard the Yamaha R9.
Geiger topped qualifying with a lap of 1:34.857 to secure pole position, giving him the ideal starting position for both Supersport races.

Perfect weekend begins with dominant SSP Race 1 victory
Starting from pole position, Geiger immediately converted his advantage into the holeshot and controlled SSP Race 1 from the very first corner.
Lap after lap, he steadily increased his lead without coming under pressure, managing the race perfectly all the way to the checkered flag.
“The team did an amazing job to give me the perfect bike,” Geiger said. “Race 1 went exactly the way we wanted. I got the holeshot into Turn 1 and just rode my own pace.”
Geiger crossed the finish line 5.811 seconds ahead of teammate Lennox Lehmann, securing his first EURO MOTO victory of the season while setting the fastest race lap with a 1:35.792.
“Everything worked perfectly. I didn’t even have to manage the tyres, I could simply push for the entire race. It was a perfect job from the whole team.”

Red flags deny Geiger the chance to score in SSP Race 2
SSP Race 2 turned into one of the most unusual races of the season.
After only four laps, the race was stopped following a serious accident. The restart was then interrupted again after just one lap by another red flag, forcing race control to abandon the event.
As less than the required race distance had been completed after the restart, no championship points were awarded.
“Race 2 was a little bit strange,” Geiger explained. “We had a red flag after four laps, then another red flag after the restart. In the end race direction decided to cancel the race, so nobody received any points.”
Rather than focusing on the lost opportunity, Geiger’s thoughts immediately turned to the riders involved in the incidents.
“The most important thing is that everyone is okay, especially my friend Marcel after his big crash. I wish everyone a speedy recovery.”
Championship lead changes hands
Despite missing out on a potential second victory of the weekend through circumstances beyond his control, Geiger leaves Most as the new leader of the EURO MOTO Supersport Championship.
With 105 championship points, Dirk Geiger now leads the standings by two points ahead of Daniel Blin as the championship heads next to Oschersleben.
