Quick adaptation to a new EURO MOTO venue
The second round of the EURO MOTO Supersport season brought a new challenge for Lennox Lehmann, as the championship arrived at Brno. While Lehmann had not raced at the circuit for several years and was riding the Yamaha R9 there for the first time, an additional test day ahead of the weekend helped build confidence and prepare for the new demands.
“We had one extra test day in Brno, which definitely helped because I hadn’t ridden there for around eight years and it was also my first time there with the R9,” Lehmann explained.
At the same time, Team APRECO arrived with significant setup changes compared to Sachsenring, allowing rider and team to continue refining the package.
“We changed quite a lot on the bike compared to Sachsenring,” said Lehmann. “The team did a really good job and gave me a strong package.”

Strong qualifying performance
The additional preparation quickly paid off once the weekend got underway. Lehmann showed competitive pace from the beginning and secured P4 on the grid with a lap time of 2:02.098, narrowly missing out on a front-row start.
The qualifying result once again placed him directly into the fight at the front for both races.

Valuable lessons in Race 1
Race 1 delivered another podium finish, although the German rider felt there was still more potential to unlock.
Lennox Lehmann secured third place in Race 1, finishing 6.278 seconds behind the race winner and 2.951 seconds behind second place, while setting a fastest lap of 2:01.728.
“At the beginning of Race 1, I pushed a bit too hard and probably overheated the tyres,” Lehmann explained. “That cost us a little bit towards the end of the race.”
Despite the challenge, the podium result added more valuable points and confirmed the strong overall pace.

Smart improvements rewarded in Race 2
For Race 2, Lehmann adjusted his approach and focused more on tyre management over race distance.
The changes paid off immediately, allowing him to stay much closer to the front throughout the race.
He once again secured third place, this time finishing only 2.629 seconds behind the race winner and 2.578 seconds away from second place, while setting a fastest lap of 2:02.045.
“In Race 2, I managed the tyre much better and the gap to the front became smaller,” Lehmann said. “At the end, I was just missing that final little bit of grip.”

Growing confidence and closing the gap
Despite narrowly missing out on a first victory, Lehmann leaves Brno with another double podium and growing confidence aboard the Yamaha R9.
“The gap gets smaller every race,” he said. “We are getting closer to victory.”
With another 32 championship points collected across the first two rounds, Lennox Lehmann now sits third in the overall EURO MOTO Supersport standings with 64 points, continuing his strong start to the season.
