Lennox Lehmann ends 2026 season on the podium and sets sights on 2027

Lennox Lehmann ends 2026 season on the podium and sets sights on 2027

Lennox Lehmann concluded his 2026 EURO MOTO Supersport season with another podium at Hockenheim. After a challenging first race on Saturday, the Team APRECO rider and his crew found another step with the Yamaha R9 for Sunday, allowing Lehmann to finish the season with a third place earned on outright pace.

Strong pace from the beginning

Lehmann once again started the weekend among the leading Supersport riders.

In the combined Free Practice classification, he finished fourth with a 1:28.481, 0.898 seconds behind teammate Dirk Geiger, who topped the session.

Unlike Geiger, Lehmann also took part in the cold Q1 session on Saturday morning before the conditions improved for Q2.

In the combined qualifying classification, Lehmann secured fourth position on the grid with a 1:28.208, putting him directly behind the front row for the final two races of the season.

Race 1: podium after a difficult Saturday

Saturday’s opening race did not develop exactly as Lehmann had hoped.

While Geiger controlled the race at the front ahead of championship rival Daniel Blin, Lehmann was involved in the fight behind them.

He eventually crossed the line in third position, 7.203 seconds behind race winner Geiger, securing another podium for Team APRECO.

However, Lehmann himself felt that the result did not fully reflect his performance. Rather than being satisfied with the position alone, the focus immediately shifted towards improving the bike for Sunday’s final race.

Race 2: podium on outright pace

Together with his crew, Lehmann made another significant step with the setup of his Yamaha R9 for Sunday.

The improvement allowed him to produce a stronger final race of the season and fight for the podium on his own pace.

After 15 laps, Lehmann crossed the line in third position, 4.552 seconds behind Geiger and 2.114 seconds behind Blin.

For Lehmann, the way the result was achieved made Sunday’s podium particularly satisfying.

“The final race of the season is done and it was a really positive way to finish. We finished third, but this time we achieved it through our own performance and not with the luck we had yesterday. We made another good step with the bike for Sunday and overall it was simply a great way to finish such an amazing season.”

The result also completed another double podium for Team APRECO, with Geiger taking victory and officially securing the 2026 EURO MOTO Supersport championship.

A season to be proud of

For Lehmann, Hockenheim brought an end to a season in which he established himself as a regular presence at the front of the EURO MOTO Supersport field.

He finishes the championship third overall after a year filled with podiums and strong performances aboard the Yamaha R9.

But after the final chequered flag, Lehmann’s attention was not only on his own season. He also congratulated his teammate on securing the championship and thanked the entire Team APRECO crew for their work throughout the year.

“Congratulations to Dirk, and a huge thank you to my mechanics and the entire crew, including everyone working in the background. None of this would be possible without all of you. I’m really grateful to be part of a team like this.”

2027 preparations begin in October

There will now be a short opportunity to recover after the season finale, but Lehmann does not intend to stay away from training for long.

While Geiger makes the move to the Superbike class in 2027, Lehmann will remain in Supersport and return with a clear target for the new season.

The preparation starts early, with the first test already planned for the end of October before further testing follows in November.

“Next week I’ll relax a little bit, but there won’t really be much time without training. At the end of October we’ll already have our first test for next year and then we’ll continue in November. I want to arrive there in top shape, so there won’t be much time off. We’ll go straight back to work, keep the fitness level high and then attack again in Supersport next year.”

After finishing 2026 third in the championship, the focus now shifts immediately towards the next opportunity.

For Lehmann and Team APRECO, the 2027 Supersport campaign has effectively already begun.
