Lennox Lehmann returns to the podium at EURO MOTO season opener!

Strong start to a new chapter

For Lennox Lehmann, the opening EURO MOTO weekend at Sachsenring represented the beginning of a new chapter. Following changes over the winter, the focus was on continuing to build confidence, understanding the Yamaha R9 package and finding a strong rhythm from the very beginning.

Despite cold temperatures and difficult weather conditions throughout Friday, Lehmann quickly settled into the weekend and showed competitive pace.

“The first race weekend was overall really good,” Lehmann explained. “The conditions definitely weren’t the easiest with the cold and rainy Friday.”

Growing confidence with the Yamaha R9

Throughout the weekend, Lehmann continued to build confidence aboard the Yamaha R9, while further strengthening the connection with Team APRECO.

“But overall, it worked really well and I’m happy with how things fitted together,” Lehmann said.

At the same time, Lehmann identified areas for further improvement, particularly when it came to maximising the full potential of the new tyre package.

“I realised there’s still that final little bit missing to really maximise the new tyres,” he explained.

Strong pace from the first races

A strong qualifying performance secured P3 on the grid with a lap time of 1:25.607, placing him directly into the fight at the front for both races.

Race 1 exceeded expectations, with the German rider comfortably fighting inside the leading group and matching the pace at the front throughout the race.

“Especially Race 1 was really strong,” said Lehmann. “I honestly didn’t expect that we would already be able to ride in the leading group and match those lap times.”

After a confident performance, Lennox Lehmann secured third place in Race 1, finishing just 1.434 seconds behind the race winner while setting a fastest lap of 1:24.783.

Consistency rewarded in Race 2

Lehmann carried the positive momentum into Race 2, once again delivering a competitive and consistent performance inside the leading group.

He crossed the line in third position for the second consecutive race, finishing 6.865 seconds behind the winner and only 3.048 seconds away from second place, while setting a fastest lap of 1:25.179.

Strong foundation for the season ahead

With two podium finishes at the opening event, Lennox Lehmann leaves Sachsenring in third position in the overall EURO MOTO Supersport standings with 32 championship points.

“To stand on the podium twice already in the first weekend feels amazing,” said Lehmann. “But we still have a lot of work to do and definitely can’t relax.”

The Sachsenring weekend provided a strong foundation for the season ahead, with the focus now shifting towards continuing the progress and taking the next step forward over the coming rounds. 🏁
